Alberta Conference Welcomes New Pastors!

A Warm Welcome to Pastor Ryan Lambert

Pastor Ryan Lambert has been hired to serve as a half-time School Pastor at College Heights Christian School starting August 15, 2024.  Ryan has lived in Lacombe for 16 years. He graduated from Parkview Adventist Academy in 2016.  He also studied Theology at Burman University.  Ryan graduated from Burman in 2022 with a BA in Religious Studies.

Pastor Ryan has been involved in youth ministry for many years.  He teaches Earliteen Sabbath School at the College Heights Church.  He often prepares breakfast for the Earliteens.  The young people know that he genuinely cares for them, and they respond well to his leadership.  Ryan has also served for several years as a Counselor with the Parkland Pathfinder Club.  He enjoys outdoor activities like camping and has worked at various Summer Camps.

Ryan served as the Student Chaplain at Burman University, where he was mentored by Pastor Massiel Davila-Ferrer.  He was also the Youth Speaker for our Alberta Conference Camp Meeting last summer. Pastor Ryan is a Church Elder at the College Heights Church.

Those who know Ryan best will tell you that he is very kind and caring.  Ryan goes the extra mile to help others.  We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Pastor Ryan Lambert to our Alberta Conference Pastoral Team!

Introducing Pastor Henry Tembo

We’re thrilled to welcome Pastor Henry Tembo and his family to the Alberta Conference where he will be the new pastor of our Sherwood Park Church.  Since 2017, Henry Tembo has served the Jakarta Central Church in Indonesia—first as Associate Pastor, and then as Lead Pastor.  Henry is married to Tabitha Aritonang. They have one daughter, Victoria, who is currently in the 4th grade.

Born and raised in Malawi, Pastor Tembo is one of seven children born to Mark and Susan Tembo. In his youth, Henry’s family moved to the USA where his parents attended Graduate School. At one point, Henry had decided to become a dentist.  However, God had different plans for his life.  When Henry discerned God’s call to pastoral ministry, he chose to study in the Philippines.  He took his BA in Theology at Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP), graduating in 2014.  He also graduated in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Religion from Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS).

Henry and Tabitha met at the Jakarta Central Church, where she was the church secretary.  Tabitha currently coordinates a chain of clinics in Indonesia as head of operations. She comes from a missionary family. Her parents, Berman Aritonang and Netty Tambunana, are teachers at an Adventist School in North Sumatra (one of the largest Islands in Indonesia).

Henry and Tabitha enjoy exercise. They are both runners.  Henry also enjoys basketball and American football.  In addition, Pastor Henry is an avid writer.  He loves to write about beating avoidance, developing courage, and enjoying relationships.  He writes a daily devotional called “Daily Outlook,” and is currently, writing a book on Ezra-Nehemiah called The Rebuild.

Pastor Henry is a natural leader.  He has experience leading everything from Pathfinder Clubs, to sports teams, to Student Associations.  He was captain of his basketball team at AIIAS, and to this day leads the Jakarta Central Church Running Club.  Pastor Henry is passionate about developing small groups in the church. He is dedicated to discipleship, inspiring people, and helping them grow in their walk with Jesus.
